At King's we aim to provide an enriching curriculum where children are excited to learn and stimulated by the activities on offer. Trips and visitors to school add to this rich learning environment and help to bring the curriculum to life for our pupils.
All classes have at least one outing per year,
usually two or three. Each outing is closely
linked to the work the children are doing in
class. Recent examples have included trips to Chester Zoo, Manchester Airport, the Blue Planet Aquarium, Tatton Hall, Coombs Valley Nature Reserve and a day in a ‘Victorian’ school at the Portland Mersey Basin Museum.
Infant children also enjoy a variety of activity days which are held in school. These days are also closely linked to the curriculum and have included activities such as puppet making workshops, visits from the local Fire Brigade, theatre companies, authors, artists, interactive days with 'Corner Exotics' where the children are able to handle a range of wonderful animals such as chinchillas, snakes and lizards.
Each year, children also enjoy themed days and weeks, such as 'Outdoor Learning Week', 'Book Week' and 'Magical Maths Week' to name just a few.
