A number of means-tested bursaries are available for pupils applying for admission into Year 7 and Year 12 (Sixth Form). The level of award is determined by parental need and school funds available, but a strong performance in the Entrance Examination is also required.
Detailed financial information is required to support a bursary application and an applicant will need to complete a KSB1 form in advance of the Entrance Examination. All information is, of course, kept strictly confidential. Each award is assessed on an individual basis and is reviewed annually in the light of changes in parental circumstances. The award is tenable throughout the holder’s career in the Senior School subject to good conduct and progress.
Bursaries are awarded in February, for the following September. The deadlines for bursary applications are:
Please note that the number of applications for bursaries always exceeds the funds available.
Over the last 10 years, our Quincentenary Bursary Scheme has helped fund more than 50 pupils attending our Sixth Form.
For entry in to Year 12, we also offer the Alex Anderson Bursary Fund in memory of a former pupil. It will assist an external candidate wishing to join King's Sixth Form who is able to demonstrate strong academic potential as well as make a contribution to the school in other areas such as sport and/or music, as Alex himself did.
